Over the past year, we’ve sat down with quite a few of our employees to ask them questions. We wanted to discover what they enjoy about being a part of Veramed and to find out a bit more about their personal lives. In this post, we’ve compiled some of our favourite VeraPeople answers.

We asked Katherine Hutchinson, Executive Vice President of Operations, to describe Veramed in three words.

Quality: drive and enthusiasm to deliver quality, every time. Collaborative: team working, extension to client teams, shared purpose. Happy: Look around and there is high energy, laughter & fun both inside and outside the office hours

What’s an interesting fact about you?

Probably the most interesting though is that I attended my grandparent’s wedding when I was 10. My parents are not related and all relations were married prior to children born.

…worked it out? My mum’s mum married my dad’s dad after both were widowed.

Oliver Taylor is our IT Support Specialist II. Here’s what he most enjoys about working at Veramed.

It’s hard to narrow it down to be honest. What truly stands out in my mind though is the fact that everyone has a voice at Veramed – no matter what your level or seniority, if you have an opinion or idea you can voice it and you will be listened to.

Furthermore, Veramed truly does care about the development of its employees, and if you express that you want to get involved with or support an area of the business you wouldn’t normally do so in your job, or develop a certain skillset, the management and leadership teams will try to find a way to make that possible so that you can grow and develop.

Chetan Mistry, Statistics Manager, describes us in 3 words:

Genuine – Veramed have a core set of values centred around producing quality work and treating people well in terms of training, development and guidance but none of this would mean a thing if the owners/management did not have a genuine belief in them…lucky for us they do!

Supportive – Veramed as a company puts the onus on itself to support employees and help them thrive, if you work at Veramed you will do well as the support is there for you.

Agile – Every idea, big or small is taken on board and considered. I rarely find an idea has been shot down – that is not to say every idea is a good one, more so that there is always a conversation at the very least and where good ideas are presented, there is no red tape…there is most certainly an agile response.

Chet also shared what he enjoys most about working at Veramed:

The freedom I have to make my experience at the company as interactive, fun and challenging as I want. It’s up to each individual to get stuck in (or not) depending on their preference.

We also sat down with Chet for a more in-depth look at his career journey that you can read here. Find out more about Chet’s job and apply to become a Statistics Manager here.

What does Peter Chaplin, Programmer II, believe is our biggest strength?

The hiring process – compared to the few interviews I’ve had in the industry this one seemed very thorough. I’ve seen in the past people being brought in at the wrong level and not had the proper support they needed to develop as a programmer. Veramed helped me identify areas I needed to improve on during the interview process and right away when I joined.

Office Manager and Twickenham Site Head Annie Hall shares her background in showbiz(!)

I won the TV show Blockbusters back in the early ’90s (“I’ll have a P please Bob”)

Outside of work – I play netball, ‘manage’ two teenagers and enjoy going out for dinner.

Finally, Statistician I Ben Peace shares what he likes about working here.

The work we do and service we provide. It’s exciting to be involved in something that will ultimately change peoples lives, while working for a company that takes pride in producing work of the highest quality.

We’re continually expanding our team of Statisticians. You can apply to become a Statistician I here.
