Commitment to Responsible Biometrics. Leading the Way for People, Planet, and Purpose
Becoming a B Corp isn’t just about ticking boxes, it’s about doing business the right way. It means meeting high standards for social and environmental impact, transparency, and accountability.
We see our B Corp certification as a natural extension of our values. In biometrics, where data shapes decisions that affect lives, integrity and responsibility aren’t optional, they’re non-negotiable. From governance and employee wellbeing to sustainability and community impact, our B Corp certification provides the framework for us to lead with purpose.
For us, it’s about more than advancing science. It’s about building trust, doing right by people and planet, and creating long-term value for everyone we work with, from patients and partners to our own team.
Veramed’s journey towards B Corp certification began with a simple but bold question:
In 2020, we took the transformative step of seeking certification, driven by an ambition to align our company’s values with the highest standards of social and environmental impact.
When Veramed began the B Corp journey, our motivation stemmed from a desire to redefine leadership within biometrics and embrace a broader sense of responsibility. The decision to pursue certification was made before the world was confronted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and our goal was never about anticipating global events, but about holding ourselves to the highest possible standards. We saw certification as a way to measure our progress, identify areas for growth, and make a public commitment to positive change and transparency across our business.
Our journey began with a comprehensive internal review. We evaluated our business practices, engaged with every team across the company, and listened to our community. The B Corp framework guided us to re-examine our impact, from employee wellbeing and diversity to our environmental footprint and local engagement. The process challenged us to think bigger and act with greater intention.
Since achieving B Corp certification, Veramed has taken meaningful steps to elevate our impact and deliver on our promises. These improvements span governance, sustainability, employee engagement, and customer relationships.
We refined our leadership structures to ensure greater transparency and accountability. Our board now includes a broader range of perspectives, enabling better decision-making and more inclusive outcomes.
We have taken steps to minimise our carbon footprint where we can and have since set carbon-based targets with SBTi.
Veramed introduced new mental health initiatives, flexible working arrangements, and professional development opportunities. Employee feedback is actively solicited and acted upon, fostering a culture of open dialogue and continuous improvement.
Our partnerships with local charities and educational institutions have expanded, allowing us to support STEM education and provide volunteering opportunities for our teams. We sponsor community health initiatives and actively participate in local events.
Each of these improvements reflects our belief that business success should go hand-in-hand with positive impact, both inside and outside our organisation.
The journey to becoming, and remaining, a B Corp is ongoing. We are committed to re-certifying every 3 years and produce an impact report annually to track and report on our progress in key areas.
Continuous improvement is embedded in our culture: it is how we remain agile, responsive, and true to our purpose.
Veramed’s B Corp certification holds tangible benefits for everyone connected to our business. For customers, it means partnering with an organization that values integrity, transparency, and long-term partnership above all else. It assures them that our biometrics services are not only scientifically rigorous but grounded in ethical practices and care for the communities we serve.
For our teams, B Corp status is a source of pride and motivation. It inspires every employee to contribute meaningfully, knowing that their work supports not just excellence but a broader mission of social responsibility. Our inclusive and supportive culture promotes wellbeing, personal growth, and a sense of belonging.
